Lead Based Paint Testing on Townhome Development

LEAD BASED PAINT TESTING ON TOWNHOME DEVELOPMENT

Lead based paint testing was completed to determine if lead based paint was present within the development consisting of 48 units. The testing was completed according to HUD protocol for multifamily housing.

A random number generator was used to select 21 units to be tested using a handheld X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) analyzer, according to HUD protocol. Over 1,000 painted surfaces were tested within the 21 units. Based on statistical calculations using HUD criteria, results of the testing can be utilized throughout the development, indicating lead based paint was not detected.

The results of the Lead Based Paint Testing allows the owner to comply with HUD requirements and also the new EPA Renovation Repair and Painting Rule (RRP).
