GEOTEK PERSONNEL PARTICIPATE IN TABLETOP TRAINING EXERCISE
A tabletop training exercise was held for the Sioux Falls Landfill Gas Pipeline. The 12 mile pipeline supplies landfill gas generated at the Sioux Falls Landfill to the POET Biorefinery near Chancellor, South Dakota.
The exercise was held to familiarize responders with landfill gas properties, to identify and work thru potential communication issues, determine the roles played by each of the responding agencies and to fill in gaps identified during the exercise.
GeoTek led the exercise that included local fire departments, law enforcement, emergency medical services, county emergency managers, biorefinery personnel and a representative from the State Emergency Response.
